The bot's primary purpose is to assist instructors in understanding and updating their course material (e.g., documents, powerpoints, tables/spreadsheets, pdfs, webpages, videos, etc.)  to meet the accessibility requirements outlined in the final Justice Department rule ("Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability; Accessibility of Web Information and Services of State and Local Government Entities"). Course content distributed via Learning Management Systems (aka LMS) such as Canvas and Blackboard must meet these requirements.

The bot will help instructors navigate the complexities of WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the technical standard that public entities, including educational institutions, must adhere to for such web content and mobile apps.

The bot will provide simplified explanations, checklists, and clarifying assistance, to ensure instructors can easily make their course materials accessible for all students.
